Rehearsal for a Building (Amorph/Alloy), a phygital object that exists simultaneously as sculpture and architecture. The physical object continues Barrow’s ongoing exploration of materiality and production techniques; combining a milled aluminium block with a colourful, amorphous, cast Jesmonite form. The tension between precision and fluidity becomes a central gesture in the work’s material language.

It’s digital counterpart emerges as a metamorphosing entity: the small, sculptural object re-contextualised as a monolithic building, set within a sparse desert landscape beneath distant mountains. In its final iteration, the work reveals the imagined building’s internal architecture - an intricate network of rooms, corridors, and stairwells.

In Rehearsal for a Building (Amorph/Alloy), Barrow abstracts the usual parameters of his design practice, allowing him, for the first time, to engage with the discipline of architecture in tandem with object design; exploring a new spatial language that shifts fluidly between disciplines, scales, and realities.

Minting Rehearsal for a Building (Amorph/Alloy) connects the collector to its digital form; a video NFT edition reflecting its physical counterpart, where the form shifts continually between pedestal-scale sculpture, monolithic building, and architectural wireframe. Video NFT consists of 17 second loopable MP4.
