Originally designed and created in 2019, the “SANCTUARY’’ MAGIC PLEATS DRESS was part of the “SANCTUARY: A digital craft’ Collection, shown in September 2019 at the ICA London.
 
The image-changing print features a distorted portrait of Catherine of Alexandria, a legendary figure persecuted for her perceived ‘magical abilities’. When rotated , the lenticular image transforms into a  hand-drawn medical illustration of the human eye.
 
The psychedelic print on the ‘Sanctuary’ dress was developed using a macro photography lens to distort images emanating from a digital screen, which were then further warped to create a digital, dazzling camouflage. The print is designed to confuse and disorientate the viewer, acting as a kind of Armour for the wearer - a means of strengthening, protecting the owner of the dress and deflecting unwanted gaze.

This NFT includes a Magic Pleats ‘SANCTUARY’ dress video (.mp4), 2D collectibles (.pngs), an AR Asset (.usdz), and comes with an Instagram AR lens.
